Join Stretch Co-Founder Sophie, for a workshop on pre & postnatal bodies, and how this might affect a yoga or movement practice. Most teachers have had the experience of being ready to teach your class, flows planned and ready to go! Just as your closing the studio door, a pregnant lady comes in, and you have to think on your feet to make sure your class is suitable! In this workshop Sophie will take you through the four trimesters of pregnancy & postpartum; how a woman’s body changes, common complaints, how the physical changes may alter her movement & proprioception and what you as a teacher can do, to help her modify, adapt & still enjoy her practice. What you will cover: - The Pregnant body, trimesters 1-3 - Labour, and how this can affect recovery times - The Postnatal body, trimester 4 - Alternatives to common postures and sections of a yoga class throughout all trimesters. During this workshop you will work in small groups to come up with sequences for the group to suggest how a pregnant or postnatal lady might adapt to suit the stage they are in. Please wear comfortable clothing you can move in, bring a pen & paper, and any questions or information you may already have! * Suitable for qualified yoga teachers, if you are an experienced practitioner wanting to attend please check with the studio before booking. A little bit about Sophie: Following the birth of her first son in 2013, Sophie qualified as a Yoga Teacher with Frog Lotus Yoga International and a Pregnancy Yoga Teacher with Lushtums. Wanting to dive deeper, wanting to be able to share information & to be able to support women who were journeying into motherhood she then went on to train as a Birth Doula with Conscious Birthing, and an antenatal educator with Lushtums. Sophie has combined her 6 years of parenting experience of working with pre & postnatal women, years of teaching and working with bodies to create this workshop.

These are the parts of us, in which lies the biggest potential of our development! The Kria can be practiced solely, or together with session I. In combination with session I, you will gain a deeper understanding in to your body and how it can life aspects of your life by allowing flow and conscious breath.

Flow and Vibrate your Heart - Epping  with Eileen Seibt

During the Kria we open our heart charka and vibrate it. Facing our feelings and fears helps us open up for love and joy. With an open and strong heart, we can live our life to its fullest - fearless, without judging ourselves or others, and empowered with love. Listen to and trust in your heart, let the energy explode. After the session, you will have the opportunity to join us for Snatam Kaur’s concert in London. His voice opens hearts vibrating body, mind and soul!

If you are interested in finding out how to use your breath to increase focus, as well as regulate your body temperature then this workshop will give you the opportunity to put this technique into practice. Aerial yoga is very beginner friendly and it doesn't discriminate. It doesn't matter if you have been a lifelong yogi or this is your first experience with any form of yoga. Everything that is done in the workshop can be modified for all levels. On the other hand, if you are a regular yoga practitioner, your aerial class will be pretty similar in that you'll be doing similar poses and asanas. 

You will flow through your warrior sequences, using the silk for an additional resistance, lengthening and balancing challenge. 

And yes, expect to flip upside down!

We’ll have a go at supported inversions, like the handstand. 

One of the best ways to use the hammock is for inversions because it is fairly easy to go upside-down with the hammock, and it can be done with no pressure on the head, neck, or rest of the spine

Towards the end of the workshop we will lower the hammock and include a blissful restorative session . 

We will end with a short pranayama, meditation and savasana in the hammock, floating above the ground, completely cocooned in the silk!

Explore the senses and uncover the deep presence and aliveness that is available to you through tuning in to your sense perceptions or ‘jnanendriyas’. 

In this afternoon workshop with Kat King and Rachel Skipper, celebrate all that yoga has to offer  Journeying in to the sensual world, we’ll start by moving in to energetic Kundalini-inspired practices followed by a prana-charged Vinyasa Flow sequence, closing the first half of this workshop with grounding pranayama (breath work) and a sensory meditation.  After breaking for herbal tea and vegan treats, we'll move in to a deeply meditative Restorative practice followed by Yoga Nidra.  A long Savasana (relaxation) with aromatherapy and facial massage will bring the workshop to finish. 

Expect crystal magic, journalling and essential oils along the way!

Join Emma in this beautifully composed workshop to celebrate being a woman and all the wonderful, maternal joys that come with it. But as our bodies begin to transition into the next chapter of our lives through perimenopause and menopause that may bring with it hormonal fluctuations, hot flushes, fatigue and mood swings, to name just some of the symptoms, we can learn how to embrace those changes; equipping ourselves mentally and physically for some of the challenges such a period of transition may bring. Join me on the mat where we will practise a gentle flow with the focus being on those poses that can help alleviate some of the symptoms or peri menopause, menopause and hormonal fluctuations. We’ll enjoy some beautiful breath work before setting into a Yin section with gorgeous hand blended oils and assists with shavasana to close. As this will be a gentle flow this will be open to all levels, please don’t feel you have to be in the throes of peri menopause or the menopause to join, all are welcome. Goodie bag included.

This workshop with Rachel Skipper will enable you to delve deeper in to heart opening backbends and prepare your body and mind to explore postures such as; Urdhva Dhanurasana (Upward Bow Pose) and Natarjasana (King Dancer Pose). 

The workshop will begin with a preparatory practice to open the shoulders, chest, side body and hips to create space to move more freely and easefully into these deeper postures. We will then progressively explore more advanced backbends and finally finish with counter-movements to neutralize the spine and pranayama to ground the body's energy before a long Savasana.

Let’s celebrate what a summer it was in a beautiful candlelit Friday evening workshop, embracing our Anahata Chakra for all things love. The evening will include a dynamic flow, using hand blended oils focusing on opening our hearts, releasing fear and embracing the new season with a warm afterglow from the summer. They’ll be a deeply relaxing guided meditation, some nourishing, nurturing breath work and a Yin section to release any last remnants of stress and fatigue. Wim Hof has in a way, taken the World by storm over the last 10 years, with his numerous World records and feats of surviving incredible amounts of time submerged in ice. Wim has become known as "The Iceman" and attributes his ability to stay physically untroubled whilst submerged in ice, to the breathing methods that are taught by himself and WFM certified instructors. Join us at Fringe Yoga in Epping on Sunday August 5th, for a fun and challenging WHM workshop led by Anastasis Tzanis & Ana Carvalho. Anastasis is a certified WHM practitioner since 2016 and also a qualified Yoga teacher since 2014. He can be found in London where he teaches at the Light Centre, and he also runs a successful practice as health practitioner offering movement, breathing training and nutritional programmes. Ana is a movement teacher with a unique background in dance, pilates & sports therapy spanning more than 20 years. She has also studied craniosacral therapy & the Oxygen Advantage Breathing Method over the past few years, which she now combines with her movement practice. Anastasis and Ana will lead us through the key elements of Wim Hof Method in this 5 hour workshop; Breathing, strong mindset – and the cold exposure! We will take a look at the science behind the technique; an introduction to and plenty of practice of the breathing techniques; a movement session including yoga and of course the Ice Baths (2 sessions each). Continuing on our journey up through the elements and across our rainbow bridge we reach FIRE for our next element. Come celebrate with a ritual for the high summer heat honouring the power of fire, kindling in pure powerful flame, fusing the destruction of the old with the welcoming of the new. We’ll start with a dynamic flow with Emma, broken down into sections with beautiful hand blended oils, turning up the heat, firing ourselves up and then letting that heat disperse, leaving us feeling focused, determined for the second half of the year. Clearing out the old to make space for the new. Nicole will follow with a deeply relaxing guided meditation and yoga nidra. We’ll close with a sage and palo santo stick fire ceremony and little goodybags for you to take home. Friday 27th July from 7-9.30pm, Fringe yoga at Redricks lake. Kat will start the workshop with Kundance. Kundance is an combination of uplifting powerful set of asanas and creative dance, breath work helping to shake away your fears and anxiety. The music used in class has been composed at the 528 and 423 frequency which has an instant healing effect on the body. Kunda is a powerful way to clear your body, calm your mind. This is a safe way to raise your kundalini energy by getting your heart pounding with the fast pace high tempo, we stimulate the nervous system, create endorphins, serotonin, oxytocin and dopamine which all leave you inspired but also calm, its like magic. The practice will close with an hour of Helen’s yummy relaxing guided meditation, lie down getting comfy and warm and enjoy this blissful journey with her.
